Qatar Airways Group has announced the appointment of Mr. Hamad Ali Al-Khater as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, succeeding Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.

On Sunday (December 7, 2025), Qatar Airways Group announced that appointment of Mr. Hamad Ali Al‑Khater as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Al‑Khater succeeds Engr. Badr Mohammed Al‑Meer. He joins Qatar Airways Group from the award-winning Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer. In that role, he was responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of airport operations, while leading its strategic direction, operational excellence, infrastructure expansion, and the continuous enhancement of passenger experience. Prior to his tenure at DOH, Mr. Al-Khater held senior roles across QatarEnergy, driving business development, deal execution, and leading large-scale strategic and operational initiatives.
In Sunday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group's Chairman of the Board, His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, said,

Qatar Airways currently flies to over 170 destinations worldwide, connecting through their Doha hub, Hamad International Airport (DOH). The airline won the ‘World’s Best Airline’ title for an unprecedented ninth time at the 2025 World Airline Awards, managed by the international air transport rating organization, Skytrax.
