Qatar Airways and Air Serbia Launch Codeshare Partnership

Qatar Airways has signed a comprehensive codeshare agreement with Air Serbia, facilitating seamless travel to over 40 additional destinations in both networks from February 1st, 2023.

On Wednesday (January 18, 2023), Qatar Airways announced that they have signed a comprehensive codeshare partnership with Air Serbia, which takes effect on February 1st, 2023. Under the agreement, guests of both airlines will enjoy seamless connectivity to over 40 destinations in both networks. Currently, Qatar Airways operates five weekly flights between Doha and Belgrade, and the new codeshare opens up a host of new exciting destinations for passengers on a single booking to destinations such as Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia and more with Air Serbia via Belgrade. The new codeshare agreement builds on Qatar Airways’ and Air Serbia’s longstanding interline cooperation.

Air Serbia will also add their marketing code on Qatar Airways’ direct flights between Belgrade and Doha, as well as various onward points such as Adelaide, Baku, Brisbane, Tbilisi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Muscat, Nairobi, Perth, Seychelles, Singapore and Sydney. Subject to government regulatory approvals, Air Serbia also plans to extend their coverage to Bangkok, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Phuket, Seoul, Tokyo, Yerevan, Zanzibar and many more.


In Wednesday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive Officer, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,


“This partnership will allow us to expand our footprint in the Central and Eastern European markets where we are looking forward to offering additional travel choices for our customers. We are extremely proud to unveil this partnership with Air Serbia, the leading airline in this region since it was founded in 1927 and we look forward to working effortlessly together.”


Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, Air Serbia’s Chief Executive Officer, Jiří Marek, said,


“It is our great pleasure to announce the codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways, known for its global network of destinations and premium service. We are joining forces to provide passengers with new connection opportunities and access to unique destinations from both networks. Through this cooperation, we believe that we will be able to jointly bring to Serbia more traffic and opportunities for trade and tourism, as well as to increase the traffic between the two hubs.”

Air Serbia was launched under their current name in October 2013, as the national airline of the Republic of Serbia. The carrier offers service from Belgrade, Niš and Kraljevo to over 70 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Africa with both passenger and cargo flights. Air Serbia also offers service to Asia, Australia, North America and Africa via codeshare partners. The airline’s fleet consists of 19 aircraft, including one Airbus A330, 12 Airbus A320 Family and six ATR-72 Family turboprop aircraft.


Multi award-winning Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the State of Qatar and currently serves over 150 global destinations from their hub in Doha, Qatar. The airline was recently named ‘Airline of the Year’ for the seventh time at the 2022 World Airline Awards managed by Skytrax, as well as ‘World’s Best Business Class’, World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining’, and ‘Best Airline in the Middle East.’
