Qantas Expands Codeshare Partnership With IndiGo

Building on the first phase of their codeshare partnership with IndiGo launched in August 2022, Qantas customers traveling to Delhi and Bengaluru will now enjoy seamless onward connections to a total of 21 destinations.

On Friday (January 20, 2023), Qantas announced an expansion of their codeshare partnership with IndiGo. Originally launched in August 2022, the first phase of the codeshare partnership offered Qantas guests traveling to Delhi and Bengaluru seamless onward connections with IndiGo to cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and Goa. Under the second phase announced today, Qantas customers will enjoy eight new connections via Delhi and Bengaluru, expanding the total codeshare connections to 21. Travelers will also have access to more choices across IndiGo’s domestic network with over 250 new flights available for booking.

In Friday’s Announcement, Qantas’ Chief Customer Officer, Markus Svensson, said,


“Qantas’ new routes to India have proven to be incredibly popular with our customers. Our codeshare partnership with IndiGo has improved the way our customers travel between Australia and India, and the additional destinations give travellers even more options. The new codeshare flights will allow our customers to enjoy more connections across India from our Delhi and Bengaluru gateways and have their luggage checked straight through to their final destination. Our frequent flyers in particular benefit from booking these flights, with more opportunities to earn points and status credits.”

Qantas Frequent Flyer members can also earn and redeem points on codeshare connections, and IndiGo will also honor benefits for Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One tiered members, including priority check-in and priority baggage. Qantas currently operates four weekly return flights between Melbourne and Delhi, as well as four weekly returns between Sydney and Bengaluru.
