Qantas and Jetstar have opened ticket sales for new service between Australia and Vanuatu. Starting September 10th, Qantas will offer three weekly Brisbane-Vanuatu flights, while Jetstar will operate up to four Sydney-Vanuatu flights from December 12th.
On Thursday (June 27, 2024), Qantas announced that along with Jetstar they will launch new direct service between Australia and Vanuatu. Starting September 10, 2024, Qantas will operate three, and up to five, weekly flights between Brisbane and Port Vila in Vanuatu, while Jetstar will operate up to four weekly flights between Sydney an Port Vila starting December 12, 2024. The combined services will offer over 150,000 new seats between Australia and Vanuatu annually. Qantas and Jetstar will operate the new routes with Boeing 737s and Airbus A321neos, respectively.
In Thursday’s announcement, Qantas International’s CEO, Cam Wallace, said,
“We’re thrilled to offer our customers direct flights between Brisbane and Vanuatu and build on this important route which will maintain essential connectivity for leisure and business travel. We’ve long served Vanuatu through our codeshare partnership and this new route ensures our customers have more choice and consistent service to the island destination we know they enjoy.”
Also commenting on the launch of Vanuatu service, Jetstar Group’s CEO, Stephanie Tully, added,
“Ahead of the arrival of our 13th A321neo LR next month and more new aircraft on the way, we’re continuing to grow our international network with the launch of low fares seats between Sydney and Port Vila. We’re excited to be able to offer more Australians great value holiday options to one of our nearest and most beautiful pacific island destinations.”
