Porter Airlines Unveils First Embraer E195-E2 Routes

Porter Airlines has revealed the first three routes to be operated with their new Embraer E195-E2. The carrier will deploy the aircraft on routes between Toronto Pearson and Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal.

On Thursday (December 8, 2022), Porter Airlines announced the first three routes which will be operated with their new Embraer E195-E2. Once entering passenger revenue service, the aircraft will be deployed on routes between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR), Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Services will begin in February 2023 with multiple daily nonstop flights. Porter has ordered up to 100 Embraer E195-E2s, which feature a 132-seat all Economy Class configuration.

In Thursday’s announcement, Porter Airlines’ President and CEO, Michael Deluce, said,


“Porter’s introduction of the E195-E2 provides the ability to operate throughout North America, including the west coast, better positioning us to serve the needs of many more business and leisure passengers. This investment introduces a new level of thoughtful service, unmatched by any other airline in North America. It will change the way passengers think about flying economy. A substantial amount of work has been accomplished to mark this milestone announcement, the first of many. I want to acknowledge the dedication and entrepreneurial spirit of our team members for getting us to this point. It’s quite an achievement.”

The Embraer E195-E2 offers a 65 percent reduction in noise footprint and a 25 percent reduction in fuel burn and emissions compared to previous generation aircraft. In the 120-150 seat market, the aircraft offers the lowest fuel consumption per seat and is the quietest single-aisle aircraft in service today.


Porter is also introducing a new Economy Class experience, which retains the carrier’s signature inflight experience featuring complimentary beer and wine served in glassware and premium snacks. With the delivery of the E195-E2, Porter will also offer free fast Wi-Fi, and on longer flights, guests will have the option of selecting fresh meals made with healthy ingredients. The new Economy Class offer includes a selection of six fares, including two new options designed specifically for PorterReserve, an all-inclusive Economy experience. The new fares are now available for purchase with the associated amenities for travel from February 1st, 2023, including routes served by DHC Dash 8-400s and the Embraer E195-E2.
