Porter Airlines Starts Service Between Toronto Pearson and Edmonton

Porter Airlines has launched new service between Toronto Pearson and Edmonton, the carrier’s first destination in Alberta. The route will be operated once daily with an Embraer E195-E2 jet, increasing to thrice daily from May 1st, 2023.

On Tuesday (February 14, 2023), Porter Airlines announced the start of new service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Edmonton International Airport (YEG). The route will operate once daily with a 132-seat Embraer E195-E2, with frequencies increasing to three times daily from May 1st, 2023. Porter’s onboard guest experience includes complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, free premium snacks and free Wi-Fi. Flights between Toronto and Edmonton also feature fresh, healthy meals and cocktails as part of the all-inclusive PorterReserve fare, or for purchase à la carte with PorterClassic.


In Tuesday’s route announcement, Porter Airlines’ Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Kevin Jackson, said,


“The Toronto-Edmonton route is an opportunity for us to introduce Porter’s elevated economy travel experience to the Edmonton community. What Porter offers sets us apart from other airlines in North America by treating economy passengers with a level of respect and service that they won’t find anywhere else. ”

Edmonton is the latest addition to the airline’s E195-E2 network, joining Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver service, which started earlier this month. Jet service to Calgary and Halifax will also begin later this month.
