Porter Airlines Launches New Exclusive Service Between Ottawa and Victoria

Porter Airlines in launching new, exclusive direct service between Ottawa International Airport and Victoria International Airport. The route will operate four times weekly with a 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 jet, increasing to daily service from June 16, 2025.

On Thursday (May 15, 2025), Porter Airlines announced the launch of new nonstop service between Ottawa and Victoria, becoming the only airline connecting the two capitals. Flights between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ) will operate with a 132-seat state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2 aircraft four times weekly, increasing to daily service from June 16, 2025. The launch was marked with special promotions at both Ottawa and Victoria airports, in collaboration with Victoria’s Fairmont Express and Ottawa’s Fairmont Château Laurier.
In Thursday’s announcement, Porter Airlines’ VP – Network Planning and Reporting, Andrew Pierce, said,
“This route is a natural connection between two cities that share deep national significance and tourism appeal. We’re proud to be the only airline offering non-stop service between Ottawa and Victoria, providing travellers with a more efficient and enjoyable way to move across the country.”
Also commenting on the new route launch, Ottawa International Airport Authority’s President and CEO, Susan Margles, said,
“We are excited to welcome Porter’s non-stop service to Victoria, British Columbia, and another opportunity to connect Ottawa-Gatineau travellers with iconic Canadian destinations. Porter’s continued growth and investment at YOW confirms the importance of the Ottawa-Gatineau market but also opens Canada’s west coast to passengers from the east with easy connections.”
Victoria Airport Authority’s President and CEO, Elizabeth Brown, added,
“Direct service between Victoria and Ottawa is a welcome new connection between two of Canada’s capital cities. From federal engagement to tourism and exploration, Porter Airlines’ new service offers convenience, efficiency, and a uniquely Canadian travel experience. We’re excited to welcome more visitors to Vancouver Island, and equally excited to make it easier for our community to explore the heart of our nation.”
Guests traveling on Porter’s new 132-seat E195-E2s will enjoy an elevated onboard economy service with complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, free premium snacks, as well as complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi. PorterReserve fares also include priority check-in, extra legroom seats, premium mixed cocktails, and fresh, heathy meals. These ancillaries can also be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.
