On Thursday (April 16, 2026), Philippine Airlines (PAL), the national flag carrier of the Philippines, announced and expansion of their U.S. network with new direct service between manila and Chicago starting November 9, 2026. The new Manila-Chicago route will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. With the new route, the carrier will now serve eight U.S. mainland, island and territorial destinations, including Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Guam, and Saipan. With the addition of Chicago, PAL further solidifies their leadership as the Southeast Asian airline with the most expansive network connecting travelers to the U.S.
In Thursday’s announcement, Philippine Airlines’ President, Richard Nuttall, said,
“Chicago is considered one of the premier hubs in the United States, and our entry into this vibrant city will provide direct connectivity to the Midwest. At the same time, serving the Chicago–Manila corridor will create vital links to key regional destinations and major Philippine domestic markets through our Manila hub.”
To celebrate the launch of the new route, PAL is offering special introductory fares, with roundtrip Economy base fares starting at US $667 for bookings made from April 16th through May 31, 2026. The Manila-Chicago route will be operated with an Airbus A350-900, offering a full-service experience with onboard dining, generous baggage allowance, and thoughtfully designed cabins across all classes. The service also strengthens PAL’s cargo capabilities, enabling shipments to the U.S. Midwest to connect efficiently to the airline’s broader cargo network.
Founded in 1941, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is the Philippines’ flag carrier and the country’s only full-service network airline. PAL is Asia’s first commercial airline and has played a vital role in connecting the Philippines to the world for 85 years.
