On Thursday (July 14, 2022), Peach Aviation announced that they will resume service between Osaka (Kansai) and Taipei (Taoyuan) for the first time in n early 1.5 years. The route will operate two times per week from September 16, 2022. The resumed Taipei service will follow the restart of flights to Seoul (Incheon) on August 28, 2022. Due to the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, Peach originally suspended all international flights on April 18, 2021.

In Thursday’s announcment, Peach Aviation’s Representative Director and CEO, Takeaki Mori, said,

“Our next international route is to Taiwan! Peach launched the Osaka (Kansai) - Taipei (Taoyuan) route in October 2012, and Peach has operated 10 routes between Japan and Taiwan which was the largest number of Peach's international routes. It has made the movement of people, goods, and services between Japan and Taiwan more convenient. We hope that visitors will travel to Taiwan from other parts of Japan as well via Kansai Airport, and from Taiwan to other parts of Japan. Peach will continue to expand its international flight network in order to resume international flights with the aim of once again becoming a bridge to Asia, and to attract many visitors from overseas to the Osaka Expo in 2025. We also hope that people will be able to interact with each other even more actively.”
