Oman Air is celebrating the launch of new service to Copenhagen via Baghdad, with the first flight taking to the skies on Saturday, December 20, 2026.

On Saturday (December 21, 2025), Onam Air announced the launch of their inaugural flight to Copenhagen via Baghdad, which took place on Saturday, December 20, 2025. This service represents Oman Air’s first direct engagement with both countries, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to expanding international connectivity and strengthening links between the Middle East and Europe. Underscoring the strategic importance of the new route, a welcome ceremony was held at both Baghdad International Airport and Copenhagen Airport.
In Sunday’s announcement, Oman Air’s Deputy CEO, Eng. Hamood Al Alawi, said,
“This new service reflects Oman Air’s ongoing commitment to connecting communities and promoting opportunities for cross-cultural exchange. Besides offering travellers convenience, comfort, and access to new destinations, the route plays a key role in reinforcing diplomatic and economic ties between Oman, Iraq, and Europe, supporting bilateral relations, regional cooperation and development.”
Guests traveling on the new route, which will be operated with a Boeing 737-8 MAX, will enjoy Oman Air’s signature hospitality, convenient schedules and a seamless travel experience designed to meet the needs of both leisure and business travelers.
