Norwegian is launching direct routes to six new destinations in Greece for June, expanding the number of Greek destinations from Stockholm-Arlanda to nine. The carrier is also adding service between Stavanger and Tenerife, and resuming routes from Sandefjord and Bergen.
On Tuesday (June 7, 2022), Norwegian Air Shuttle announced the launch of service to six new destinations in Greece from June, including Corfu, Kos, Heraklion, Mykonos, Santorini and Thessaloniki. With the additional service, the carrier will offer nine destinations between Stockholm-Arlanda and Greece for summer 2022. Twice weekly service to Corfu will start on June 9th, while Kos flights will start on June 12th, operating once weekly. On June 10th, Norwegian will launch twice weekly service to both Mykonos and Santorini, and one weekly flight to Heraklion will commence on June 11th. Finally, the carrier will start one weekly flight to Thessaloniki on June 16, 2022.
In Tuesday’s announcment, Norwegian Air Shuttle’s Commercial Director, Magnus Thome Maursund, said,
“We look forward to being able to offer even more of Greece to the Swedes. We know that Greece is a very popular holiday destination in the summer and we have already almost sold out of our existing trips to Greece. That is why we are now adding six new destinations directly from Arlanda, so there is a lot to choose from if you have dreams of a Greek holiday.”
In a separate press release on Tuesday (June 7, 2022), Norwegian announced the launch of new service between Stavanger and Tenerife, as well as the restart of routes from Sandefjord and Bergen. Service to Tenerife from both Stavanger and Bergen will operate once weekly on Saturdays from November 5th, while flights from Sandefjord to Gran Canaria will operate once weekly on Sundays from October 30, 2022. The Canary Island routes will operate as part of Norwegian’s winter 2022/23 schedule and will be available until the Easter holidays in 2023.
Also commenting on the new and resumed service to the Canary Islands, Norwegian’s Mr. Maursund, said,
“Tenerife and Gran Canaria are destinations that are high on the list of places Norwegians want to visit in the cold season. We continue to expand the offers from cities in Norway with direct routes to these popular destinations for the winter season 2022/2023. The route from Stavanger to Tenerife is completely new to us, and we hope that it will be well received.”
