Norwegian Air Shuttle has today announced that they will continue to provide service between Stockholm Arlanda and Skellefteå in 2026, in support of a growing business community.

On Monday (December 15, 2025), Norwegian Air Shuttle announced that they will continue service between Stockholm Arlanda and Skellefteå for 2026. A strong business community in combination with regional investments in the Skellefteå region has contributed to Norwegian's decision to continue operating the route. Norwegian has served Skellefteå since the fall of 2024. For most of 2025, the carrier has operated the route between Stockholm-Arlanda and Skellefteå twice weekly. For 2026, the route will initially operate on Fridays and Sundays to accommodate both passengers who commute weekly and those who want to travel back and forth over a weekend.
In Monday’s announcement, Norwegian’s Country Director, Corporate Affairs, Charlotte Holmbergh, said,
“Several positive things are happening in the Skellefteå region now and it is exciting to follow the development there. For a stronger business community, good access to the outside world is needed, and air connections are an important part of the region’s ability to continue to develop and grow. It is therefore gratifying that we can today announce that we will continue to fly between Stockholm and Skellefteå with the hope of being able to increase the number of departures if the positive trend continues.”
Also commenting on the extension of service, Skellefteå Airport’s CEO, Robert Lindbergh, said,
“Skellefteå's growth requires accessibility to the outside world and good air communications. The announcement that Norwegian will continue to operate in Skellefteå is therefore very important for the business community, residents and the hospitality industry, and we naturally hope for increased air traffic for a growing Skellefteå.”
