On Wednesday (September 13, 2023), Norwegian Air Shuttle announced the opening of ticket sales for their summer 2024 schedule with a total of 276 routes, of which 150 are from Norway, 54 from Sweden, 64 from Denmark and 21 from Finland. The schedule includes new direct routes from Tromsø to Berlin, Paris and Milan-Bergamo, and the airline will also resume service from Oslo to Bardufoss and Lakselv. The Tromsø-Berlin route will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays starting January 18, 2024, while service between Tromsø and Paris-Charles de Gaulle will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays from January 15, 2024. Flights between Tromsø and Milan-Bergamo will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays starting January 16, 2024. Service to Bardu and Lakselv will open for sale at the beginning of February and April 2024, respectively, and will operate year-round.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Norwegian’s Commercial Director, Magnus Thome Maursund, said,

“This summer has been one of the best in Norwegian's history with high demand for flights. Next summer we will have even more aircraft in the fleet, which means we can open new routes and increase the number of departures on existing ones. Our destinations are in demand by both leisure and business travellers, and we are particularly pleased to be able to increase our offer in Northern Norway.”

Norwegian also offers year-round flights from Tromsø to London Gatwick, Copenhagen, Oslo, Alta, Kirkenes and Longyearbyen, as well as summer seasonal service to Bergen.

Norwegian Air Shuttle was established in September 2002 with four domestic routes, and has since caried over 300 million passengers. The carrier is the largest Norwegian airline and currently employs approximately 4,500 team members. Most employees are based in Norway in Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger, or at the company’s head office in Fornebu. The carrier also has offices in Riga and Barcelona, as well as bases in Alicante and Malaga. The carrier currently offers affordable flights on a short-haul network of destinations in the Nordic countries and to key European destinations. Norwegian aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 45 percent by 2050.
