Norwegian has today announced the launch of new direct service between Tromsø and Helsinki. The new winter seasonal route will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays from November 18, 2026.

On Monday (June 29, 2026), Norwegian Air Shuttle announced the launch of new direct service between Tromsø and Helsinki. Starting November 18, 2026, the route will be operated twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the winter season. With this new route, Norwegian strengthens their focus on Northern Norway, and Helsinki will become the carrier’s ninth international destination from Tromsø. The route will also provide better travel opportunities for the local population and the business community in both regions.
In Monday’s announcement, Norwegian’s Commercial Director, Magnus Thome Maursund, said,
“This route is an important strategic focus for us. We see an ever-increasing demand from international travelers, especially from Asia and North America. Many of these tourists arrive in Europe via Helsinki, and the new direct route makes it easier to travel on to Tromsø and experience the Northern Lights, the Arctic winter and the unique nature experiences the region has to offer.
“The new route between Tromsø and Helsinki makes it easier to travel between Northern Norway and Finland. We are strengthening accessibility for travelers in both directions and connecting the two destinations more closely – to the benefit of both visitors, businesses and our regions.”
The new route will be Norwegian’s ninth international route from Tromsø. Norwegian also flies from Tromsø to Copenhagen, Berlin, London, Manchester, Paris, Geneva, Milan-Malpensa and Munich. Norwegian’s winter flying program runs from the end of October to the end of March. For winter 2026/27, Norwegian will offer over 200 routes to 66 destinations from Norway.
