Norwegian Air Shuttle Launches 40 New Routes and Nine New Direct Routes From Norway for Summer

Norwegian Air Shuttle has today released 40 new routes, including nine new nonstop routes from Norway, 27 from Denmark, Sweden and Finland, along with four new routes from bases in Europe.

On Tuesday (November 14, 2023), Norwegian Air Shuttle announced the launch of 40 new routes for the summer 2024 season, including nine new direct routes from Norway (Oslo, Stavanger and Sandefjord, 27 new routes from Denmark, Sweden and Finland, as well as four new routes from bases in Europe. From Oslo, Norwegian will launch new service to Lyon, Montpellier, Zadar, Milas/Bodrum and Basel, and will also resume service to Wroclaw. Residents of Rogaland will enjoy new service from Sola to Milan/Bergamo, while new routes from Torp include service to Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona. All new routes are on sale starting today (November 14th).
In Tuesday’s announcement, Norwegian’s Commercial Director, Thome Maursund, said,
“Route slips are always exciting, and this year we are very happy to be able to open new routes from Stavanger, Sandefjord and Oslo. We hope that the new destinations will be well received, and that the new destinations will inspire you to explore more destinations. Next summer we will fly a total of 332 routes to 123 destinations in Europe.
“The new destinations open up new and exciting journeys to European cities and new beach destinations, and we look forward to welcoming customers on board the planes on their way to both well-known, but also new destinations next summer. Our job is to ensure that customers get where they are going, when they are going and that they have as comfortable a journey as possible.”

Along with the new routes from Norway, the carrier is also launching nine new routes from Sweden, 17 from Denmark and two from Finland. In spring 2024, Norwegian will open a new base in Riga, Latvia, with service to Corfu and Tavat, and also launch new service to Munich from their bases in Malaga and Alicante in Spain.

Norwegian Air Shuttle was established in September 2002 with four domestic routes and has since carried over 300 million passengers. The carrier is the largest Norwegian airline and currently employs approximately 4,500 team members. Most employees are based in Norway in Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger, or at the company’s head office in Fornebu. The carrier also has offices in Riga and Barcelona, as well as bases in Alicante and Malaga. The carrier currently offers affordable flights on a short-haul network of destinations in the Nordic countries and to key European destinations. Norwegian aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 45 percent by 2050.
