Norwegian has today released new routes from Evenes to Palma and between Bergen and Edinburgh. The routes, which are now bookable, will operate weekly for the summer 2024 season.

On Thursday (December 14, 2023), Norwegian Air Shuttle announced the launch of two new routes for summer 2024. Starting May 7, 2024, the carrier will offer once weekly service between Evenes and Palma de Mallorca on Tuesdays, while the carrier will also launch twice weekly service between Bergin and Edinburgh on Thursdays and Sundays starting June 20, 2024. Located on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Mallorca, Palma is a popular destination offering a picturesque landscape, stunning beaches and a vibrant city life. Edinburgh, Scotland combines a rich history, a venerable old town, and grand surroundings, offering travelers a majestic city getaway.
In Thursday’s announcement, Norwegian’s Commercial Director, Magnus Thome Maursund, said,
“We are planning for a busy year in 2024 as well, and with the new international routes from Evenes and Bergen, we will operate over 330 routes to 120 destinations next year. 44 of these are completely new routes to exciting destinations in Europe. Palma and Edinburgh are big cities that are already popular destinations, and with direct routes these will be easier to visit for our passengers in Northern Norway and Western Norway.”
Norwegian now offers nonstop service to 23 destinations across Europe from Bergen. The carrier also flies two direct domestic routes from Evenes, with the new route to Palma de Mallorca becoming the first scheduled international destination in many years. The carrier also offers charter service between Evenes and Las Palmas.
Norwegian Air Shuttle was established in September 2002 with four domestic routes and has since carried over 300 million passengers. The carrier is the largest Norwegian airline and currently employs approximately 4,500 team members. Most employees are based in Norway in Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger, or at the company’s head office in Fornebu. The carrier also has offices in Riga and Barcelona, as well as bases in Alicante and Malaga. The carrier currently offers affordable flights on a short-haul network of destinations in the Nordic countries and to key European destinations. Norwegian aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 45 percent by 2030.
