Norse Atlantic Airways Celebrates Inaugural Flight Between Rome and New York-JFK

Norse Atlantic Airways celebrated their inaugural flight between Rome and New York-JFK on Monday (June 19th). Rome becomes the carrier’s fifth European gateway to New York joining Oslo, London, Paris and Berlin.

On Tuesday (June 20, 2023), Norse Atlantic Airways announced the launch of inaugural service between Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and New York (JFK) which departed on Monday, June 19, 2023. The route will operate daily with flights departing Rome at 18:55 and landing in New York at 22:30. The return flight departs New York at 00:30 and lands in Rome at 15:15. Rome becomes the carrier’s fifth European gateways to New York-JFK, joining Oslo, London, Paris and Berlin. Tickets on the Rome-New York route are now available for booking with one-way fares from €265 including taxes and fees.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Norse Atlantic Airways’ CEO Bjørn Tore Larsen, said,

Also commenting on the new route, Aeroporti di Roma’s Chief Aviation Officer, Ivan Bassato, said,

The addition of this flight to New York JFK helps strengthen our direct air offer to the United States, which will see record levels during the 2023 summer season. We are confident that the carrier's new offering model, together with the evening schedule that allows to benefit from a full day in Rome before departure, will enrich the market with additional solutions that can intercept a wider market segment and stimulate new demand on direct connections between Rome and the Big Apple.”


Norse Atlantic’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners are configured with Economy and Premium cabins, and customers can choose between Light, Classic and Plus fares. Light fares represent the best value, while Plus fares include the maximum baggage allowance, two meal services and an enhanced airport and onboard experience and added ticket flexibility. Each seat is equipped with a state-of-the art inflight entertainment (IFE) experience, and Premium cabin seats feature a generous 43-inch seat pitch and a comfortable 12-inch recline.


Founded in March 2021 by major shareholder and CEO Bjørn Tore Larsen, Norse Atlantic Airways offers affordable transatlantic and European flights.
