Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) Finalizes Order for 20 A220 Family Aircraft

Airbus announced on Thursday that Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) has finalized an order for 20 A220 Family Aircraft. NAC is the leading lessor of regional aircraft and the order was originally signed at the end of 2019.

Today, Airbus announced the finalization of a firm order for 20 Airbus A220 Family aircraft signed by Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) at the end of 2019. NAC is the leading lessor of regional aircraft, and the finalization of the order today, affirms the market demand for the aircraft type. The NAC order has already been counted in the Airbus order book for 2019. In Thursday’s announcement, Airbus’ Chief Commercial Officer, Christian Scherer said,


“NAC’s order for the A220 shows this aircraft is just as relevant in the regional world as it is in the mainline one. We are delighted to work with NAC going forward, we thank them for their confidence and congratulate them on their new offices in Limerick.”


NAC is the largest lessor of regional aircraft in the world with over 500 owned and managed aircraft. The company currently leases regional aircraft to 78 airline customers in more than 50 countries.


The only purpose-built aircraft for the 100-150 passenger market, the A220 Family of aircraft delivers unmatched fuel-efficiency with widebody passenger comfort. With state-of-the-art aerodynamics and advanced Pratt & Whitney PW1500G geared turbofan engines, the aircraft delivers a significantly smaller noise footprint along with a 20% reduction in fuel burn versus previous generation aircraft. By the end of 2019, Airbus had received 600 orders for A220 Family aircraft. Currently, over 100 of the aircraft are in service with seven operators throughout the world.
