Mexicana has taken delivery of their second Embraer E195-E2, registration XA-MXB. The first of 20 Embraer E2 Family jets on order was delivered to the carrier on June 30, 2025.

On Saturday (August 9, 2025), Mexicana announced the delivery of their second 132-passenger Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, registration XA-MXB, following the delivery of the first of the type to the carrier on June 30, 2025. This is the second of 20 new-generation E2 jets ordered by Mexicana, including 10 E190-E2s and 10 E195-E2s. The deal, announced in 2024, represents a strategic investment by Mexico’s state-owned carrier to enhance connectivity and operational efficiency. Prior to entering passenger revenue service, the aircraft will be subject to certification by Mexico’s Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC). Between September and December 2025, Mexicana will receive three more E195-E2 aircraft.
Mexicana’s new E195-E2s will gradually replace the airline’s Boeing 737-800NG airplanes, which will be returned to the Mexican Air Force. With new state-of-the-art Embraer aircraft, Mexicana continues to execute their fleet modernization plan, with the goal of providing passengers with an affordable, efficient, and sustainable service, aligned with the highest standards of safety, comfort and punctuality. Mexicana’s E2 jets are configured in a single class layout, offering passengers a modern, spacious cabin experience with no middle seats. The E195-E2’s advanced aerodynamics, new-generation engines, and refined systems, deliver a 29 percent reduction in fuel consumption compared to the previous generation aircraft.
