Lufthansa Group has announced the appointment of Felipe Bonifatti as Vice President Asia Pacific & Joint Ventures East. Based in Singapore, Mr. Bonifatti will lead all commercial activities , including Joint Venture sales in the region.
On Thursday (September 26, 2024), Lufthansa Group announced the appointment of Felipe Bonifatti as Vice President Asia Pacific & Joint Ventures East effective November 1st, 2024. In this new role, Mr. Bonifatti will be based at the Lufthansa Group’s regional headquarters in Singapore, where he will lead commercial activities, including Joint Venture sales in the Asia Pacific region. Born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Felipe Bonifatti is a dual citizen of both Argentina and Spain. He is a graduate of the German School near Mar del Plata, and holds both a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the National University. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Belgrano in Argentina.
In Thursday’s announcement, Lufthansa Group’s Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution, Frank Naeve, said,
“Felipe Bonifatti brings a wealth of experience to the role of Lufthansa Group Vice President Asia Pacific & Joint Ventures East, and I am personally very excited to have him on board. As one of our most senior executives in the Americas I am confident he will deliver on our ambitious growth plans for the Asia Pacific region.”
Felipe Bonifatti began his aviation career in 1992, and has since held various senior positions with Lufthansa Group across Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean. He was appointed General Manager – Equatorial Guinea & Sao Tome and Principe, and then subsequently promoted to General Manager Colombia, Ecuador & Peru. As the youngest Group executive in Latin America, Bonifatti was appointed General Manager Central America and the Caribbean, where he successfully opened Lufthansa Group’s first operation in Central America.
During this period, Mr. Bonifatti spearheaded the Group’s expansion in the Caribbean region, including pioneering operations of the Group’s airlines, including Austrian Airlines, Eurowings and Edelweiss. Later, he was promoted Senior Director, Head of Sales Mexico, Central America & the Caribbean, as well as to his current position as Senior Director South America & Caribbean in São Paulo, Brazil. Felipe Bonifatti speaks German, English, Portuguese & Spanish, and is married with two children.
