Lufthansa Group Airlines Say, ‘Yes to Europe’ With Special Gathering in Brussels

For special liveried Airbus A320s from Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings gathered in Brussels today, featuring the slogan ‘Yes to Europe’ in advance of the European Parliament elections, which will take place June 6-9, 2024.

On Monday (May 13, 2024), Lufthansa Group announced the gathering of four special liveried Airbus A320s from Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings today in Brussels.  The aircraft proudly fly the flag for Europe with the tagline ‘Yes to Europe’ and the European circle-of-stars emblem emblazoned across the aircraft fuselages.  At the special gathering, which was held in advance of the European Parliament elections which will be held from June 6-9, 2024,  The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and Lufthansa Group’s CEO, Carsten Spohr spoke out for a strong and free Europe.   


Speaking at the special ceremony at Brussels Airport today, Lufthansa Group’s CEO, Carsten Spohr, said,

 

“Soon millions of citizens will have the opportunity to shape the future of the European Union. Now more than ever, it is up to all of us to use our votes in the European elections to stand up for democracy and a united and free continent.  This is the prerequisite for a strong location and a strong economy.”

Approximately 100 invited guests attended today’s ceremony at Brussels Airport, including the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, who both, along with Lufthansa Group CEO, Carsten Spohr, spoke out in favor of a strong and free Europe.  For the last several weeks, the four special liveried Lufthansa Group Airbus A320s have been operating across Europe, serving as flying ambassadors for the European idea ahead of the June elections.
