Lufthansa Cargo has today announced the launch of the development of new and innovative virtual reality training for aircraft loading supervisors. This is part of the carrier’s commitment to driving forward digitalization projects within the industry.

On Monday (July 14, 2025), Lufthansa Cargo announced the launch of the development of innovative new virtual reality (VR) training for aircraft loading supervisors. With this pioneering training method, Lufthansa Cargo is setting new standards in the training of ground personnel and strengthening its position as an innovation leader in the logistics industry. The VR training is designed to prepare team members for their aircraft handling tasks in a realistic, flexible and safe manner, independent of operational requirements.
In Monday’s announcement, Lufthansa Cargo’s Frankfurt Station Manager, Momo Ruzic, said,
“With this project, we are not only strengthening the qualifications of our Aircraft Loading Supervisors, but also our role as an innovation driver in the industry. This technology allows us to train our employees in a practical manner while ensuring the highest safety and efficiency standards.”
Lufthansa Cargo will rollout the first VR training module in October 2025, becoming one of the first companies in the air freight industry to use this innovative technology to train aircraft loading supervisors, and showcasing the company as a pioneer in digital solutions and training methods. The use of VR training offers a cost-efficient and flexible training option, which is also an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional training methods.
