On Thursday (September 12, 2024), Lufthansa Cargo announced the publication of their winter 2024/25 schedule.  The winter timetable includes 89 weekly Boeing 777F freighter connections worldwide, an increase of seven compared to the summer 2024 timetable.  One highlight in the winter timetable is a weekly B777F rotation connecting Frankfurt via Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) with Los Angeles (LAX), and then back to Frankfurt.  This is Lufthansa Cargo’s first direct connection from the Asian market to the U.S. network, offering customers a faster, high-quality connection between the two continents.

In Thursday’s announcement, Lufthansa Cargo’s CEO, Ashwin Bhat, said,

“Lufthansa Cargo is constantly reviewing all possibilities to offer its customers seamless, high-quality connections and to enable global business even more efficiently and sustainably.  With a comprehensive review of our existing schedule and network, we have been able to optimize our rotations.  In the future, some of our freighters will have fewer stopovers, allowing our customers to benefit from direct connection and transportation of their freight within our global network.”

In the Asia-Pacific region, Lufthansa Cargo will add one flight per week to Mumbai (BOM) and Taipei (TPE), while Chennai (MAA) will be served twice weekly in combination with Hyderabad (HYD) or Mumbai (BOM).  With the recent addition of Shenzhen (SZX) and Zhengzhou (CGO), Lufthansa Cargo no offers 50 weekly frequencies to Asia.  Additionally, B777F service from Frankfurt via Tel Aviv (TLV) to Cairo (CAI) will be increased by one weekly flight.

Lufthansa Cargo’s winter 2024/25 schedule can be booked from October 6th, and takes effect on October 27, 2024.  Complementing dedicated freighter services, Lufthansa Cargo also markets additional cargo capacity of up to 7,500 weekly flights to over 350 destinations served by Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines and SunExpress.
