On Wednesday (September 13, 2023), Lufthansa announced an expansion of their summer 2024 schedule with three new U.S. destinations and more. Next summer, the carrier will offer a total of 27 U.S. destinations, even more than before the pandemic. From Frankfurt, Lufthansa will launch new service to both Minneapolis (Minnesota) and Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina), while Munich will see new service to Seattle (Washington), Johannesburg and Hong Kong. Service to Minneapolis and Raleigh-Durham will operate year-round five times weekly from June 4th and June 6, 2024, respectively.

Flights between Frankfurt and Hyderabad (India), already in Lufthansa’s winter schedule will continue for summer 2024. Daily Airbus A350 service between Munich and Seattle will start on May 30, 2024. Lufthansa will also offer several weekly frequencies between Munich and Hong Kong, as well as three weekly A350 flights to Johannesburg starting June 4, 2024. Flights from Munich to Bangalore (India) will also continue for summer 2024 with up to six weekly frequencies.

Additionally, Airbus A380 fans will be delighted that Lufthansa will double the number of flights operated with the super jumbo next summer. The carrier will station six A380s in Munich, offering service on five routes, including Boston, Los Angeles, New York-JFK and Delhi. By 2025, Lufthansa’s A380 operating fleet will grow to a total of eight aircraft.
