LOT Polish Airlines announced on Thursday that they will resume scheduled service between Warsaw and Dublin from August 23, 2020. The route will be operated four times weekly and serviced with a Boeing 737-800 NG.
Earlier this week (Thursday, July 16, 2020), LOT Polish Airlines announced that they will resume service from Warsaw Chopin Airport commencing August 23, 2020. Flights will be operated four-times weekly and the route will be serviced with a Boeing 737-800 NG. Dublin is popular with both tourists and business travelers and is known as the ‘European Silicon Valley’ as it is home to the European offices of major technology companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, eBay and PayPal. The departing flight (LO 299) will take off from Warsaw at 2:35 PM and arrive in Dublin at 4:35 PM, while the return flight (LO 300) departs Dublin at 5:50 PM and arrives in Warsaw at 9:50 PM (all times local). The route will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. In Thursday’s announcement, LOT’s President, Rafał Milczarski said,
“A direct flight connection with Dublin was an important factor when it comes to the development of the West European LOT flight network. Due to the considerable number of Poles living in Ireland, our presence in this very country was just a matter of time. Today we can offer our compatriots the most convenient way to travel to Dublin directly from the main airport in Warsaw. As part of the gradual restoration of regular routes and the revitalization of air traffic, we are convinced that over time the option of direct flights to the island situated on the Atlantic will also be taken by passengers from other countries of Central and Eastern Europe.”
LOT is gradually restoring their European flight network and since July 15, 2020, has once again offered service to London, Berlin, Prague, Kyiv, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Milan, Geneva, Istanbul, Belgrade and Tallinn. The Polish flag carrier also offers flights to more than 30 popular resort destinations in countries such as Spain, Croatia, Greece and Bulgaria. Including the resumption of service to Dublin, LOT will have over 70 destinations on offer for summer 2020. With ever-changing regulations, LOT reminds guests to review all restrictions imposed by their destination countries prior to booking tickets. Current information regarding travel restrictions is available on the website for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) or at reopen.europa.eu/pl/.
