Starting October 28, 2024, LOT Polish Airlines will resume nonstop service between Warsaw and Larnaca, Cyprus following a two year pause. The route will operate four times weekly in winter and six times weekly during the summer season.
On Tuesday (July 16, 2024), LOT Polish Airlines announced the resumption of direct service between Warsaw and Larnaca, Cyprus from October 28, 2024. For the winter 2024/25 season the route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, before increasing to six times per week (daily except Tuesdays) for summer 2025. This is in addition to LOT’s new service to Lyon, France announced last week, and is part of the carrier’s 2024-2028 expansion strategy. Larnaca International Airport is conveniently located just 8 km south of the city center.
In Tuesday’s announcement, LOT Polish Airlines’ CEO, Michał Fijoł, said,
“Poles eagerly visit Cyprus – in 2023 we were the third most represented tourist group on the island. Not surprisingly, as the high temperatures prevailing throughout the majority of the year, a well-developed hotel base and an intriguing mix of diverse cultures make the island a tourist destination that is definitely worth visiting. Thanks to the continuously growing number of aircraft in our fleet, starting from this fall we will be able to provide travelers with an opportunity to visit the sunny city of Larnaca.”
For the winter season, LOT flight LO171 will depart Warsaw at 10:40, arriving in Larnaca at 15:10, while the return flight, LO172, departs Larnaca at 16:10, before touching down again in Warsaw at 18:50. The route will operate with a Boeing 737 aircraft.
Larnaca is located in the southeastern part of Cyrus and is built on the ancient city-kingdom of Kition. The popular Mediterranean destination offers a subtropical climate with pristine beaches and emerald-colored waters. From the Foinikoudes Promenade, the 17th century Turkish fort and the Orthodox Church of St. Lazarus dating to the 9th century, to the Kamares Aqueduct and the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque, Larnaca offers rich history and culture, as well as endless opportunities for outdoor leisure activities. Visitors will also enjoy the Cypriot culinary tradition, which embraces Mediterranean and Southern European influences, and relies heavily on olive oil, wine, cheeses, fresh vegetables, lamb, veal, fish and fresh seafood.
