After a successful two year negotiation, LOT Polish Airlines will anchor the New Terminal One (NTO) at New York’s JFK Airport along with Etihad Airways and Air France. Construction on the 220,000+ Square meter facility is expected to begin in summer 2022.
On Tuesday (June 21, 2022), LOT Polish Airlines announced that they will become one of three anchors at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport’s (JFK) New Terminal One (NTO), along with Etihad Airways and Air France. Construction on the new $9.5 billion 220,000+ square foot facility is expected to start in summer 2022, with first stage completion (arrivals and departure halls) expected in 2026, and completion of the entire project by 2030. LOT Polish Airlines’ anchor presence at the NTO comes after two years of successful negotiations with the private NTO consortium which has contracted with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and includes lead sponsor Ferrovial, as well as Carlyle, JLC Infrastructure and Ullico.
In Tuesday’s announcment, LOT Polish Airlines’ CEO and President of the Management Board, Rafał Milczarski, said,
“Our presence in New York dates back to 1973. It is no coincidence that the flight number from JFK to Warsaw is LO007. The management of the New York facility solicited this designator code to commemorate the movie ‘Live and Let Die’ which was released that summer and starred legendary Roger Moore as Agent 007. For almost 50 years, we have been connecting people between Europe and this vibrant metropolis. Today, LOT is proud to be a major carrier at this state-of-the-art terminal. It is also a tribute to LOT Polish Airlines for its nearly 50 years of presence in New York. I would like to thank my team and our partners at NTO for their commitment and cooperation. Being among such an elite group of major carriers is a perfect start to another half-century of our New York adventure.”

JFK’s state-of-the-art New Terminal One will include 23 gates, expansive public spaces, cutting edge technologies, and a range of amenities for passengers and staff, all designed to make the NTO one of the world’s highest rated airport terminals. As a co-host of the new facility, LOT will enjoy greater brand visibility at the NTO with check-in desks and a two-story Business Class lounge with direct aircraft access. Once completed, the NTO will be the largest terminal at JFK and will cater exclusively to international traffic.
