On Wednesday (February 11, 2026), LOT Polish Airlines announced that 2025 was a record-breaking year for the company across a range of metrics.  The airline carried 11.7 million guests during the year, a 9.4 percent year-over-year increase compared to 2024.  LOT also launched service to nine new destinations 2025, including Lisbon, Thessaloniki, Reykjavik, Marrakech, Stavanger, Rovaniemi, Malta, Paris-Orly from Kraków and Barcelona from Radom.  Additionally, the first Boeing 737-8 MAX jets sporting new cabin layouts are already taking to the skies.

In Wednesday’s announcement, LOT Polish Airlines’ President of the Management Board and CEO, Michał Fijoł, said,

“These results are definitely something we can be proud of – we carried 11.7 million passengers, nearly 10% more than the year before, launched nine new destinations and strengthened our presence in the regions.  Thanks to launch of the largest fleet modernisation programme in the airline’s history, a total of 55 new aircraft will be delivered, with an option to purchase 44 more. As a result, by the end of the decade, LOT Polish Airlines will be operating one of the youngest aircraft fleets in Europe.  I would like to thank our passengers for their trust and for every trip they made aboard our planes.

“We are also investing in the passenger experience by modernising our business lounges in Warsaw and upgrading the on-board product.  I’m glad to see that our efforts have been recognised by awarding us the status of a 4-star airline in the Skytrax ranking.  I also want to assure you that we are not slowing down – despite the challenges we face, just as the entire industry does, 2026 promises further significant novelties, including the highly anticipated new long-haul routes. Let me invite you to visit the hospitable boards of our aircraft now.”

LOT has also ordered 55 new aircraft, with an option to purchase 44 more, a company record.  A total of 13 737-8 MAX jets will enter service by mid-2026.  In the last quarter of 2026, the carrier’s long-haul fleet will be expanded by two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, which will support new long-haul service to Chicago in May 2026, and to Bangkok by the end of the year.  At the end of 2025, LOT began work on the deployment of Airbus A220 jets, which will eventually form the core of its regional fleet.  Additionally, LOT Polish Airlines recently commissioned refurbished business lounges in Warsaw.  Their interiors will be consistent with the design trend pioneered by the LOT Business Lounge in Chicago.

LOT Polish Airlines connects Central and Eastern Europe with the rest of the world, including the U.S., Canada, India, Japan and South Korea.  The carrier operates long-haul flights with state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliners.  Founded in 1929, LOT Polish Airlines is the 11th oldest airline in the world, and is also one of the most internationally recognized Polish brands.
