Korean Air to resume ‘Transit Exclusive Domestic Flights’ Between Busan and Seoul
Updated: Dec 28, 2022
After being suspended for nearly 2.5 years due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Korean Air will resume flights between Busan Gimhae International Airport and Seoul Incheon from September 30, 2022.

On Monday (September 5, 2022), Korean Air announced that from September 30, 2022 they will resume ‘transit exclusive domestic flights’ between Busan Gimhae International Airport and Seoul Incheon International Airport after being suspended for 2.5 years due to the pandemic. The route will be operated twice daily with Boeing 737-8 MAX airplanes. The two daily flights (KE1402, KE1408) will depart Busan at 07:00 and 15:25 respectively, while the return flights (KE1401, KE1407) will depart Seoul Incheon at 09:30 and 18:45, respectively.
Korean Air’s transit exclusive domestic flights are only available to guests departing from or returning to Busan with international flights to/from Seoul Incheon. The flights differ from typical domestic flights as they are operated as international flights. International passengers heading to Busan via Seoul Incheon will go through immigration and customs and retrieve their checked baggage at Busan. For customers taking an international flight from Busan via Seoul Incheon, all boarding procedures such as immigration and baggage checks will be completed at Busan. Korean Air expects the resumption of these flights will offer improved convenience for passengers flying internationally to/from Busan and Gyeongnam Province.
