Korean Air has announced an expansion of their China and Japan networks with resumed services and increased frequencies. Flights between Seoul Incheon and Mudanjiang and the Busan-Qingdao route will resume on October 22nd and December 1st, respectively.
On Wednesday (September 5, 2024), Korean Air announced an expansion of their China and Japan networks with resumed routes and added frequencies. Starting October 22, 2024, the carrier will restart service between Seoul-Incheon and Mudanjiang, China with five weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Daily service between Busan and Qingdao in China will restart on December 1st, 2024. Both routes start following a four year hiatus due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Korean Air is also increasing frequencies on several Chinese routes. The Seoul Incheon-Zhengzhou route has increased from four times weekly to daily, while Seoul-Xiamen flights will increase from four weekly flights to daily service starting October 1st, 2024.
Additionally, Korean Air’s Seoul Incheon-Taichung route will expand in two phases. Between September 10th and October 26, 2024, the route will operate four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, increasing to daily service starting October 27th.
Following a hiatus of over 11 years, Korean Air will also relaunch winter service between Seoul Incheon and Nagasaki, Japan, which will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight between Seoul and Osaka will also increase from three to four weekly flights during the period from September 2nd through October 26th. As of December 2024, Korean Air’s China network will reach 95 percent versus 2019, while Japan services will achieve 106 percent of pre-pandemic capacity.
