KLM Cityhopper has welcomed their 25th Embraer E195-E2 at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This followed a successful test flight and final inspection at aircraft manufacturer Embraer in Brazil.

On Wednesday (October 1st, 2025), KLM Cityhopper announced the arrival of their 25th Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The aircraft arrived at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) following a successful test flight and final inspection at aircraft manufacturer Embraer in Brazil. This marks a significant milestone in KLM Cityhopper’s ongoing European fleet renewal.
In Wednesday’s announcement, KLM Cityhopper’s Managing Director, Maarten Koopmans, said,
“This aircraft truly represents the flagship of our KLM Cityhopper fleet. It consumes less fuel and is considerably quieter than its predecessor. In addition, ergonomically designed seats, increased legroom, USB ports, and larger overhead bins offer our passengers enhanced comfort. Fleet renewal remains a key priority, and we’re already looking forward to the next steps.”
The state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2 uses 15 percent less fuel per flight and emits 34 percent less CO₂ per passenger compared to the Embraer 190. The aircraft is also 63 percent quieter, helping to reduce noise pollution around airports. With a capacity of 136 passengers, the 195-E2 is the largest aircraft in the KLM Cityhopper fleet. Currently, KLM Cityhopper operates 61 aircraft, serving 80 European destinations.
KLM is investing €7.0 billion in their fleet renewal over the coming years. For European routes, this includes the Embraer 195-E2 operated by KLM Cityhopper, as well as Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, ten of which have already been delivered. For intercontinental flights, KLM has recently added new Boeing 787 Dreamliners to their fleet, and the first Airbus A350 is expected in 2026, followed by the introduction of A350F freighters in 2027.
