Kenya Airways will add new service from Nairobi to Eldoret (Kenya) and Maputo (Mozambique) effective March 25th and June 14th, 2024, respectively. The carrier is also increasing frequencies on five routes including New York and Paris.
On Thursday (February 22, 2024), Kenya Airways announced the launch of new service from Nairobi to Eldoret in Kenya, as well as Maputo, Mozambique starting March 25th and June 14, 2024, respectively. Flights to Eldoret will operate five times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, while Maputo flights will operate three times per week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Additionally, the carrier is boosting frequencies to New York (JFK) with two additional frequencies on Thursdays and Saturdays from June 15th, and to Paris (CDG) with two additional weekly flights on Fridays and Sundays from July 5th to meet demand related to the summer 2024 Olympics.
In Thursday’s announcement, Kenya Airways’ Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, Julius Thairu, said,
“In response to the steady recovery and demand for air travel, we have expanded our operations with increased frequencies to five destinations within our network expanded our Africa network to Eldoret, Kenya and Maputo, Mozambique. Our focus for FY2024 will be to continue with strategic and targeted growth to meet growing demand as the airline targets bottom line revenue growth. The network expansion is reflective of our mission of propelling Africa’s growth by connecting its people cultures and markets.”
Kenya Airways will also increase capacity to Accra and Freetown (Sierra Leone) from June 2, 2024, by deploying a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on the routes. Additionally, the carrier is adding three more weekly flights to Lagos (Nigeria), with a new Saturday flight from April 1st, as well as Monday and Thursday flights starting June 3, 2024.
