On Monday (January 18, 2021), Jetstar announced the launch of four weekly direct flights between Melbourne and Hamilton Island from March 29, 2021. Flights between Melbourne and Hamilton Island, the most popular Whitsundays and gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, will be operated with an Airbus A320 offering approximately 1,500 weekly seats. To celebrate the launch of the new route, Jetstar has launched a 36 hour flash sale with fares from only $99. The airline expects strong demand from Melbournians wanting to explore a leisure destination known for its natural beauty, proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and some of the most stunning Queensland beaches.
Jetstar currently serves Hamilton Island from Sydney and has served the island since their 2004 launch, carrying over 3.4 million customers through Hamilton Island Airport. The one-way flash sale ends at 11:59 AEDT on Tuesday January 19, 2021, unless sold out sooner. Fares do not include baggage and limited changes are permitted. Prices are based on payment by POLi, Jetstar voucher, Jetstar Gift Card, Jetstar credit cards, or when the booking is redeemed in Qantas Plus Pay through the company website. Other payment options are available, but subject to a payment fee.
