Jetstar has announced their largest-ever expansion at Melbourne Avalon Airport with new direct international service to Bali, the restart of service to Adelaide, and additional frequencies to Brisbane.

On Monday (November 10, 2025), Jetstar announced a major expansion at Melbourne Avalon Airport, with new direct international service to Bali, the resumption of service to Adelaide, and more flights to Brisbane. From March 23, 2026, Jetstar will operate five weekly return flights between Melbourne Avalon and Bali (Denpasar) with an Airbus A321LR. The new service will offer convenient options for customers across Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast and Bellarine Peninsula to enjoy Bali’s beaches, culture, and hospitality. Jetstar also recently launched service to Bali from Sunshine Coast, Newcastle and the Gold Coast. Starting March 26, 2025, Jetstar will also offer up to seven weekly return flights between Melbourne Avalon Airport and Adelaide. Additionally, the carrier will introduce up to five extra weekly flights to Brisbane.
In Monday’s announcement, Jetstar’s CEO, Stephanie Tully, said,
“This is a massive step forward for Jetstar at Melbourne Avalon Airport. We’re launching two new routes and adding more seat capacity than ever before. Whether it’s a family holiday in Bali or a weekend away in Adelaide or Brisbane, these services give Victorians even more options to take off more, for less. This investment will see thousands more customers fly through Melbourne’s second airport gateway, supporting the economic growth of Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula. I want to thank the Victorian Government, Melbourne Avalon Airport and Adelaide Airport for their support of low fares travel.”
Also commenting on Jetstar’s expansion, Melbourne Avalon Airport’s CEO, Ari Suss, said,
“The Avalon - Jetstar partnership is now into its 22nd year and this renewed partnership both in domestic and international services, will deliver more frequency and better connections, and the ability for people between Melbourne and Geelong to start their journey closer to home.”
Adelaide Airport’s Managing Director, Brenton Cox, added,
“We are incredibly grateful for Jetstar’s investment in this increased connectivity between Victorian and South Australian communities - supporting strong each way demand for tourism, events, family connections, and business travel.”

Launched in in 2004, Jetstar Airways is wholly owned by the Qantas Group, and has to date carried over 350 million passengers, operating in Australia and New Zealand. The Jetstar Group also includes Jetstar Japan. A low-cost carrier, Jetstar is committed to offering everyday low fares to enable more people to fly to more places.
