On Tuesday (March 26, 2024), Jetstar announced the launch of first ever service between Sydney and Busselton Margaret River, Western Australia’s world-renowned wine and surf region. The new route will operate three times per week with an Airbus A320, making a trip to WA’s South West easier than ever, with over 50,000 seats on offer annually. Jetstar is the only airline offering nonstop commercial flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Busselton Margaret River.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Jetstar’s Executive Manager – Customer, Jenn Armor, said,
“Close to two years ago Jetstar began flying from Melbourne to Busselton Margaret River and following the success of those flights, which have carried over 100 thousand passengers so far, we’re excited to launch the only direct flights from Sydney to WA’s stunning South West. Holidaymakers from Sydney will be able to fly direct to Margaret River in about five hours for as low as $135 one way, making the region far more accessible for domestic and international tourists from the harbour city.
“We thank the Western Australian Government, the South West Development Commission, Western Australia Tourism and the City of Busselton for their ongoing support of our efforts to grow travel demand to Busselton Margaret River.”
Launched in in 2004, Jetstar Airways is wholly owned by the Qantas Group, and has to date carried over 350 million passengers, operating in Australia and New Zealand. The Jetstar Group also includes Jetstar Asia in Singapore and Jetstar Japan. A low-cost carrier, Jetstar is committed to offering everyday low fares to enable more people to fly to more places.
