After a four year hiatus, Jetstar will resume flights between Singapore and Medan from November 1st, 2024. This will become the carrier’s fourth Indonesian destination, complementing existing service to Jakarta, Denpasar and Surabaya.
On Tuesday (September 10, 2024), Jetstar Asia announced the resumption of service between Singapore and Medan, Indonesia from November 1st, 2024, following a four year hiatus. Medan will become the carrier’s fourth Indonesian destination, joining Jakarta, Denpasar and Surabaya. The route between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Medan’s Kualanamu International Airport will operate daily, and is expected to carry over 130,000 travelers annually.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Jetstar Asia’s CEO, John Simeone, said,
“Indonesia is a key market for our business and leisure travellers and with the reintroduction of our services to Medan, we’ll now be operating over 40 flights into Indonesia each week. We’re delighted to reconnect our customers with Medan, a city that offers rich cultural experiences and economic opportunities. Being the only LCC to offer direct flights on this route underscores our commitment to making travel more accessible and affordable.
“I want to thank our partners Changi Airport Group and Kualanamu International Airport for their ongoing support, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration to deliver more convenient and low-fare travel options for our customers.”
Launched in in 2004, Jetstar Airways is wholly owned by the Qantas Group, and has to date carried over 350 million passengers, operating in Australia and New Zealand.
