JetBlue to Launch Seasonal Service to Telluride From Three Focus Cities Starting December 19, 2020

Just in time for ski season, JetBlue will offer service from Boston, New York and Los Angeles to Montrose (Telluride) Colorado starting December 19, 2020. The flights will operate to/from Montrose Regional Airport, 90 minutes north of the famed ski destination.


On Wednesday (October 14, 2020), JetBlue announced the launch of seasonal service to Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is wester Colorado from Boston (BOS), New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAS) starting December 19, 2020. MTJ is 90 minutes from the famed ski resort destination of Telluride, Colorado and JetBlue will be the only carrier offering nonstop flights between New England and Montrose. For the winter 2020/21 season, JetBlue will fly 20 routes to/from more than half a dozen popular ski destinations from five of their focus cities, which include Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO) as well as the previously mentioned gateways. In Wednesday’s announcement, JetBlue’s Vice President of Network Planning, Andrea Lusso, said,


“As we take a refreshed approach to evaluating new markets, it’s clear to us that travelers are increasingly looking for unique destinations where they can truly escape and enjoy wide open spaces. Telluride, by way of air service in Montrose, is an ideal destination to add to our route map this season which will help us diversify the markets we fly to, support our focus city strategies on the East and West Coasts and connect more customers with the places they want to go.”


Located in Southwest Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, Telluride is a world-class alpine ski destination, which has been ranked as the #1 Ski Resort in North America for the last six years by Condé Nast Traveler® magazine. Central Telluride was designated National Landmark District in 1964 and the city features colorful Victorian homes, clapboard storefronts, boutiques, art galleries, gourmet restaurants and historic buildings. All the new routes will be operated with an Airbus A320 featuring the most legroom in coach, free Wi-Fi, the fastest broadband, complimentary unlimited snacks and soft drinks, free live DIRECTV®, and over 100 channels of SiriusXM® radio at every seat. Telluride expands the airline’s portfolio of unique western U.S. destinations including Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe, Bozeman and Steamboat Springs.
