JetBlue will launch new nonstop service from Boston to London Gatwick from July 19th, and to London Heathrow starting August 22, 2022. With the new service, JetBlue will be the only airline offering service between New England and London.
Today (April 5, 2022), JetBlue announced the launch of their highly anticipated new service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and London. Service from Boston to London Gatwick (LGW) will start on July 19th, followed by service to London Heathrow (LHR) on August 22, 2022. With the new routes, JetBlue will be the only airline offering direct flights from New England to London. Both routes will operate daily with a new Airbus A321neo LR (long range) aircraft featuring 24 redesigned Mint® suites, 114 core seats and the spacious Airspace cabin.
In Tuesday’s announcement, JetBlue’s Chief Executive Officer, Robin Hayes, said,
“Our strategy of flying to both Heathrow and Gatwick Airports has been a success for us in New York, and we’ve secured slots to be able to do the same in Boston, becoming the only airline in New England offering flights to London’s two main airports. Our London service has been an incredible success so far and we’ve been able to go in with our unbeatable JetBlue service and experience and bring down fares on a traditionally overpriced route – the JetBlue Effect in action. We’re ready to do the same at Logan as we advance our growth strategies in both Boston and London.”
Seats on both London routes are now available for booking. Flights to Gatwick for U.S. originating travelers start at $499 roundtrip for core and $1,949 for JetBlue’s premium Mint experience. Return fares to Heathrow start at $549 for core seats and $1,999 for Mint. For customers originating in the UK, return fares from Gatwick start at £349 for core and £1449 for Mint, while return fares from Heathrow start at £399 and £1499 for core and Mint, respectively. Additionally, to celebrate the new routes, JetBlue Vacations is offering a $400 discount on vacation packages (including hotel accommodations) to London from Boston for travel between July 7, 2022, and February 28, 2023.
JetBlue is Boston Logan’s largest airline and will offer around 150 daily departures for summer 2022. The carrier also serves more nonstop destinations than any other carrier in Boston with nearly 70 direct routes across the U.S., the Caribbean and Latin America. Boston is home to nearly 4,000 JetBlue crewmembers, and the airline plans on hiring more this year.
