JetBlue Launches Inaugural Service Between New York JFK and Vancouver

JetBlue has officially launched service to Canada with their inaugural flight from New York-JFK touching down in Vancouver on Thursday evening, June 9, 2022. The route will be operated daily with an Airbus A320 and introductory one-way fares from $119.

On Thursday (June 9, 2022), JetBlue announced the launch of new service to Canada, with daily nonstop flights between New York (JFK) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The inaugural flight touched down in British Columbia on Thursday evening as the carrier continues to advance their transcontinental growth strategy. The route will be operated with an Airbus A320 featuring free and fast Fly-Fi broadband internet, complimentary snacks and soft drinks, and free live DIRECTV® programming at every seat. Introductory one-way fares are now available for purchase on the carrier’s website from $119. JetBlue currently offers service to over 30 international destinations in more than two dozen countries, and in partnership with Northeast Alliance (NEA) partner American Airlines, will offer over 500 daily departures from New York’s three major airports in 2022.

In Thursday’s announcment, JetBlue’s Vice President of Network Planning, Andrea Lusso, said,


“The addition of Vancouver to our route map marks an important milestone for JetBlue as our first Canadian destination. We look forward to not only introducing our outstanding service and competitive fares to Canadian customers but also providing access to all the cities we serve from New York.”


Also commenting on JetBlue’s inaugural service to Canada, Vancouver Airport Authority’s Director – Air Service Development, Russell Atkinson, said,


“We are thrilled to welcome JetBlue to YVR and are proud to make Vancouver the airline’s first Canadian destination in its growing North American network. JetBlue brings another direct link between Vancouver and New York City. The new nonstop service to JFK is an important connection between our two regions for both business and leisure travel, further strengthening YVR’s position as a diverse hub and directly benefiting our community and the economy that supports it.”
