Japan Airlines has launched a codeshare partnership with IndiGo, allowing customers access 14 Destinations in IndiGo’s network across India. In later phases of the agreement, IndiGo’s customers will also have access to JAL’s extensive domestic and international network.
On Monday (June 3, 2024), IndiGo announced the signing of a new codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines. During the first phase of the agreement, JAL customers will enjoy connectivity to 14 destinations across Indigo’s domestic network. In later phases, Indigo’s customers will also gain seamless connectivity to Japan Airlines’ extensive domestic and international network. JAL will commence codeshare on India domestic routes which connect to JAL flights via Delhi and Bengaluru. Currently, the carrier operates daily flights between Tokyo Haneda Delhi, and three weekly flights between Tokyo Narita and Bengaluru.
In Monday’s announcement, IndiGo’s SVP – Network Planning & Revenue Management, Abhijit DasGupta, said,

This step to provide seamless connectivity to support trade, commerce, and tourism between the two countries. IndiGo operates the most extensive domestic network in India, and with the new codeshare agreement in place, Japan Airlines’ customers will now enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity via Delhi and Bengaluru to popular destinations such as Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Kochi, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Pune, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Goa. The start of the codeshare cooperation is targeted for the winter 2024/25 schedule and will include JAL operated Tokyo Haneda to Delhi and Tokyo Narita to Bengaluru flights, as well as IndiGo operated flights to 14 domestic destinations that connect to JAL operated Tokyo-India flights.
