JAL Releases Summer ‘Fly Deep Hokkaido’ Video; Offers Exclusive ‘Ichiro’s Malt’ Whisky for Sale Onboard

Japan Airlines and Hokkaido Air System have today announced the release on a new promotional video, ‘Fly Deep Hokkaido – summer edition.’  In a separate announcement, the carrier announced that exclusive bottles of ‘Ichiro’s Malt’ whisky will be available onboard.

On Monday (August 25, 2025), Japan Airlines (JAL) and Hokkaido Air System (HAC) announced the release of a new promotional video, ‘FLY Deep Hokkaido - summer edition,’ showcasing the unique summer scenery and attractions of Eastern Hokkaido, including the World Natural Heritage Site of Shiretoko.  Alongside the video release, the Hokkaido Air System website has been enhanced to simplify the booking process for overseas visitors.   

The video’s picturesque imagery and detailed content aims to foster traveler interest in experiencing the eastern region’s breathtaking nature and unique charm firsthand.  The region is located less than an hour from Sapporo by HAC flights. 


Visitors to the region will have the opportunity to enjoy Shiretoko National Park, renowned for its rugged, majestic landscapes and abundant wildlife shaped by volcanic activity and drift ice. Recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site for its rich biodiversity and unique ecosystems, the park offers breathtaking views of the Shiretoko mountain range from Mt. Rausu.  HAC operates direct flights from Sapporo to Memanbetsu Airport, providing convenient access to the Shiretoko area.

In a separate press release on Monday (Aughts 25, 2025), Japan Airlines further announced that exclusive bottles of ‘Ichiro’s Malt’ craft whisky will be available on select international flights.  This is the tenth product in a series which highlights Japanese craft distilleries.  The latest edition features ‘Ichiro’s Malt CHICHIBU Single Malt JAL Exclusive 2025' and ‘Ichiro's Malt & Grain JAL Exclusive,’ developed by Venture Whisky Ltd., a distillery led by CEO Ichiro Akuto and located in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture.
