ITA Airways Adopts Lufthansa Group’s App and Website Platform, Delivering a Superior Experience

Lufthansa Group has announced that ITA Airways has switched their website and app to the Group’s platform, delivering new functionalities for an enhanced travel experience.

On Wednesday (April 8, 2026), Lufthansa Group announced that ITA Airways has introduced a completely new digital offering to its customers. The carrier’s app and website have been completely rebuilt and now offer numerous new functionalities and options. The new digital solutions incorporate all elements of the ITA Airways brand, including the logo, color scheme, imagery, and content. However, they are based on the same technology already used by Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines. This digital integration is a key component of the collaboration between ITA Airways and the Lufthansa Group and marks another important step toward a unified guest experience across the Lufthansa Group’s network airlines.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Lufthansa Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Dieter Vranckx, said,
“With our shared platform, we are creating real added value for ITA Airways customers. The new app is intuitive, easy to use, and designed to be a trusted companion throughout the journey to deliver a seamless travel experience. With more than 200,000 daily users, ITA Airways’ digital channels already play a key role in our interactions with customers.”
With this enhanced technology, travelers can now combine ITA Airways flights with those of other Lufthansa Group hub carriers in a single booking. Existing bookings for ITA Airways flights can be transferred to the new app or website. The new online channels will also be expanded gradually, and in the future, Travel ID and Miles & More accounts will be accessible directly through the new app. Additionally, the app will soon offer direct login, automatic email and push notifications, as well as a check-in process standardized with other Lufthansa Group Airlines. The new ITA Airways app and website have been designed to offer passengers optimal support and useful information at every stage of their journey, and is available in nine languages.
The Lufthansa Group Digital Hangar division has carried out the development of the new platform with extensive programming over the last twelve months. The goal is to provide a consistent, modern experience across all digital touchpoints. This includes simple and intuitive user guidance during booking, seamless integration of services, and personalized travel information. With the switch to the Lufthansa Group platform, ITA Airways now has a modern app. This Group platform was already recognized internationally as the ‘Best Airline App’ in 2024.
