IndiGo Starts Direct Flights Between Mumbai and Ayodhya

IndiGo commenced direct daily flights between Mumbai and Ayodhya on Monday, January 15, 2024.  The carrier was the first to start flights from the new Maharishi Valmiki Airport in Ayodhya on December 30, 2203.

On Tuesday (January 16, 2024), IndiGo announced the launch of daily nonstop service between Mumbai and Ayodhya, with the inaugural flight taking to the skies on Monday, January 15th.  On December 30, 2023, IndiGo became the first airline to operate from the newly opened Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya.  The carrier now offers service to Ayodhya from Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.  Ayodhya is a city of great religious, historical and cultural importance, and has been a cornerstone of devotion for centuries, as the birthplace of Lord Rama.


In Tuesday’s announcement, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, Mr. Vinay Malhotra, said,


“We are pleased to commence direct flights between Mumbai and Ayodhya.  With this, we have connected 3 major cities (Delhi, Ahmedabad and now Mumbai) to Ayodhya within weeks of the airport’s inauguration.  Our customers will now have multiple options connecting to Ayodhya from our extensive 6E network, within India as well as overseas.  As India’s leading carrier, we remain committed to providing our customers with seamless connectivity across the country and delivering on our promise of providing affordable, on-time, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences.”
