IndiGo has selected Recaro Aircraft Seating to outfit their new Airbus A320neo and A321neos. The Recaro BL3710 Economy Class seats will be installed on 75 aircraft from January 2023, making IndiGo the first LCC on the Indian sub-continent to feature the best selling seats.
On Monday (July 11, 2022), IndiGo announced that they have selected Recaro Aircraft Seating’s model BL3710 Economy Class seats to outfit their fleet of brand-new Airbus A320neos and A321neos. From January 2023, the carrier will install the seats on 75 aircraft, making IndiGo the first airline in the Indian sub-continent to feature the best selling seats. Winning both a Red Dot Design Award and IF Design Award, the BL3710 was specifically crested for short and medium-haul flights. The seat features an ergonometric design, combined with a weight of less than 10kg per passenger, making it a best seller since entry into service in 2019.
In Monday’s announcment, Indigo’s Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, Mr. Sunjay Kumar, said,
“As we expand our network, domestically and internationally to cater to the travel demand, the comfortable seats will be key to upgrading the customer experience onboard IndiGo.”
Also speaking on IndiGo’s seat selection, Recaro Aircraft Seating’s CEO, Mr. Mark Hiller, said,
“Our new partnership with IndiGo demonstrates our commitment to not only building a distinct product with a sustainable lifecycle, but also our comprehensive approach to customer service. The BL3710 is an excellent product that will serve both IndiGo and its passengers for many years.”
