IndiGo will launch their 74th domestic destination and 99th overall destination with new service between Kolkata and Deoghar from July 12, 2022. The carrier will also launch new international service between Mumbai and Bahrain from August 1st, 2022.
On Friday (July 8, 2022), IndiGo announced the launch of new service between Kolkata and Deoghar, marking the carrier’s 74th domestic destination and 99th overall destination. The route will operate four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The new connectivity to Deoghar, an important Hindu pilgrimage centre, will enhance the tourism footprint in destinations like Baba Baidyanath Temple, Trikuta Parvata, the Mayurakshi River, Rama Krishna Mission Vidyapith and Naulakha Mandir.
In Friday’s announcment, IndiGo’s Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, Mr. Sanjay Kumar, said,
“We are pleased to announce Deoghar as the 74th destination on the 6E network. These new flights will enhance connectivity and significantly reduce transit time between Kolkata and Deoghar, from 7.5 hrs. to less than 1.25hrs. The increased access to Deoghar - home to Baba Baidyanath Temple, Trikuta Parvata, Rama Krishna Mission Vidyapith and Naulakha Mandir - will also boost religious tourism in the region. In an earlier press release on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, IndiGo also announced the launch of new daily service between Mumbai and Bahrain from August 1st, 2022, marking the carrier’s 25th international destination. Travelers to Bahrain can enjoy unique experiences while visiting destinations like the Royal Camel Farm, the Island of Pearls, the Twin Towers of the Bahrain Trade Center and Dive Bahrain, one of the world’s largest underwater theme parks among others. Other popular destinations include the UNESCO world heritage site of Qal’ at Al Bahrain, Sitra, Muharraq and the wildlife reserve at Al Areen.
Commenting on the new international service between Mumbai and Bahrain, IndiGo’s Mr. Sanjay Kumar, said,
