India’s all-Embraer jet operator, Star Air, has commenced passenger revenue service with their first Embraer E175. The flight took place on Saturday, May 13, 2023 with the two-class E175 flying the Bangalore-Hyderabad-Jamnagar-Bangalore route.
On Wednesday (May 17, 2023), Embraer announced that India’s all-Embraer jet operator, Star Air, has commenced passenger revenue service with their first two-class Embraer E175. The inaugural flight took place on Saturday May 13, 2023 with the aircraft operating on the Bangalore-Hyderabad-Jamnagar-Bangalore route. Star Air has leased four E175s, expanding their existing fleet of five Embraer ERJ 145s. The carrier offers service to multiple destinations across India which are part of the UDAN scheme. Star Air is the first airline in India to offer Business Class seats on domestic routes. The Embraer E175 is the airframer's best selling model and one of the most-sold aircraft in the world. In the U.S., the E175 is the market leader in the up to 150 seat market.
