Icelandair Celebrates Inaugural Service to Miami, Florida

Icelandair has announced the launch of new direct service to Miami, Florida. The route will now operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until May, 2, 2026 with an Airbus A321LR.

On Friday (October 31, 2025), Icelandair announced the launch of inaugural service to Miami International Airport (MIA) in Florida. The seasonal route will now operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays through May 2, 2026, and will be operated with the airline’s new Airbus A321LR. Miami becomes Icelandair’s 19th destination in North America and the second in Florida, complementing the airline’s longstanding service to Orlando. Miami is renowned for its year-round sunshine, beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, and lively nightlife.
In Friday’s announcement, Icelandair’s President and CEO, Bogi Nils Bogason, said,
“We are delighted to launch flights to Miami and offer our passengers a new and exciting destination in Florida. Our new Airbus A321LR aircraft enables us to add exciting new destinations, and Miami is a perfect example. This route also creates convenient connections for travelers from Miami to our 38 destinations in Europe via Iceland—and vice versa.”
Founded in 1937, Icelandair uses their unique geographical location as a hub midway
between Europe and North America, and offers direct flights to over 60 destinations in the UK, Scandinavia, continental Europe, and North America, including four domestic destinations in Iceland and four destinations in Greenland. The carrier also operates an airfreight and logistics business, as well as leasing and consulting services.
