Iberia to Offer More Than 300 Weekly Flights to and From Latin America for Winter 2023/24

For winter 2023/23, Iberia will offer over 300 weekly flights to/from Latin America, a 14 percent increase versus 2019. The schedule will include significant growth in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Brazil and Venezuela.

On Monday (July 10, 2023), Iberia announced that they will offer over 300 weekly flights to and from Latin America for the winter 2023/24 season, a 14 percent increase compared to the pre-pandemic period in 2019. The schedule will include significant capacity increases to Colombia, Peru, Chile, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Brazil and Venezuela. Additionally, during the upcoming winter season Iberia will also offer more than 90 weekly flights to/from the U.S., a 24 percent increase versus 2019.

“We are developing an ambitious plan in Latin America and the Caribbean that will boost connectivity with this region and, above all, will allow the Madrid airport to reinforce its role as a bridge between Europe and Latin America. To this record increase in frequencies, we are adding a more sustainable fleet and improvements in our on-board experience, so that Iberia is the best option to fly between both sides of the Atlantic.”


For the upcoming winter season, Iberia will offer 21 weekly frequencies to Mexico City, as well as three daily flights to Bogotá. The carrier will also offer double daily flights between Madrid and Lima except on Sundays, for 13 weekly frequencies, as well as 14 weekly flights to Argentina. Chile will recover 10 frequencies per week, fully restoring pre-pandemic capacity, while Iberia will maintain daily service to São Paulo, plus an additional frequency to Rio de Janeiro in January and February for four weekly flights. Ecuador will also have 10 weekly frequencies with up to daily service to Quito and three weekly frequencies to Guayaquil. The carrier will also increase service between Madrid and Caracas from three to five weekly frequencies.


In the Caribbean, Iberia will offer nine and 10 weekly frequencies to the Dominican Republic in January and February, respectively. From November, Iberia will also offer up to five weekly flights to Puerto Rico, increasing to daily service from early 2024. Additionally, flights to Havana, Cuba will operate three times per week. In Central America, Iberia’s routes with Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama and Uruguay will all be operated with one daily flight.
