Iberia’s newest Airbus A350-900 has been named Royal Spanish Academy, honoring the organization that is a guardian of the use of the Spanish language. Iberia now has 21 A350 Family jets in their fleet.
On Wednesday (December 27, 2023), Iberia announced that their latest Airbus A350-900 has been named Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), honoring the institution that guards the proper use of the Spanish language. The carrier will deploy an A350 on their new service to Tokyo which commences on October 27, 2024, and the aircraft type also serves Iberia’s routes to Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Mexico, Bogotá, Quito, Lima and New York, among others.
With the use of the latest technology and lightweight materials, the Airbus A350-900 reduces fuel consumption and emissions by between 30 and 35 percent compared to previous generation models in the same class. Additionally, the aircraft improves the guest experience with a wider cabin, increased comfort, more privacy, new lighting, and a state-of-the-art IFE and connectivity system. The new A350-900, Royal Spanish Academy, will serve as an ambassador for the Spanish language and image worldwide.
