Iberia has launched their new ‘Deliverfly’ service which allows guests on short and medium-haul flights to pre-purchase meals and snacks at the time of booking. Deliverfly is part of the carrier’s sustainability and COVID prevention plans.
On Monday (May 17, 2021), Iberia announced the launch of their new ‘Deliverfly’ service which allows guests on short and medium-haul flights to pre-order food and snacks at the time of booking on Iberia.com. The new service has been launched in partnership the start-up Homeria, specialists in online systems, and is part of Iberia’s sustainability and COVID prevention plan. The large range of delicious and healthy food options will be prepared daily by the airline’s caterers Do&Co. The affordable menu includes hot and cold dishes for every age and taste, including vegan and salmon “poke” bowls, a variety of salads, sandwiches and pastas, including lasagna, as well as gourmet tapas.
The launch of Deliverfly today coincides with the celebration of International Recycling Day and has been designed to improve the guest experience while reducing waste on aircraft. As a result of the pandemic, Iberia previously suspended their buy onboard retail service as part of the airline’s health and safety protocols. The new Deliverfly menu not only offers a greater choice of healthier menu options, but also reduces weight and waste, as only ordered meals will be boarded. Iberia’s technology partner Homeria is also the developer of the Windelivery platform, Spain’s leading online food order processor.

Deliverfly is available from the moment of booking up to 60 minutes prior to departure for drinks and packaged snacks, while fresh meals, salads and sandwiches must be ordered at least four hours in advance of departure in Madrid, and 24 hours in advance for other Iberia gateways. To place an order, customers should click on “Manage my booking” on the Iberia.com homepage and once the reservation is pulled up, click again on “Personalize your flight.” Customers will receive e-mail confirmation of their orders, which will be delivered by cabin crew during the flight.
